Behavior
Now, let’s talk about our behavior system! In my newsletter, I have listed our five rules. Students who are not following these rules will receive two warnings before I send home a “think sheet.” The “think sheet” has a circle around which rule was broken. You are to sign it, and then your student will return it to me the next day. However, I am still keeping our Class Dojo account for communication purposes, as well as posting photos and announcements. I will send announcements home on paper, too.
Here are our 5 classroom rules:
#1 Listen when your teacher is talking.
#2 Follow directions quickly!
#3 Respect others, respect yourself, and respect your school.
#4 Raise your hand to speak or stand.
#5 Be safe, be kind, and be honest.
Additionally, “Give me five” is what I say to the class to grab everyone’s attention throughout the day. This is what your student should do to give Ms. Dosen five:
1) eyes on the teacher 2) ears listening
3) mouth zipped 4) hands quiet 5) feet quiet
If the students are following our five classroom rules, and they "Give Me 5", they will be earning straws. I also have the power to take straws away. If they meet our goal, they will earn a prize from the treasure chest.
Think Sheet:
If you would still like to sign up for Class Dojo, please let me know and I will send home another invite code!

Think Sheet:
- Only sent home if a student isn’t following a rule after two warnings
- Should be signed and returned the next day
- Since I am running into difficulties with using this daily while not taking away from instructional time, I will ONLY use Class Dojo for parent communication, uploading photos, and posting announcements that are sent home via web. Please feel free to message me through Class Dojo.
- I will be telling students to put straws in their pockets throughout the day for demonstrating terrific behavior and following our five rules
- These will be turned in for a prize from our treasure chest
- If your child does not bring home a “think sheet”, then you have nothing to worry about =)
